Fight against Covid-19 pandemic

Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr. Balaram Bhargava said, 'India is not yet in the stage of transition at the community level.  We must continue to investigate, locate people who have come in contact with the infected person, reach out to them, keep them separate from it and declare the area unoccupied.  Also, we will not have to be careless. '

Regarding the sero-survey, Bhargava said that it has two parts, the first part estimates the share of the general population infected with 'SARS-COV-2' (Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2).  On the other hand, that part of the population has been kept in those areas which have been infected in the locked areas or cities with more cases of infection.  He has stated that the first part of the survey is complete, while the second is continuing.

The survey was initiated by the ICMR in March with the state health departments, the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) for general taxation.  Bhargava said that a total of 83 districts and 26400 people were included in the study.

The information shared to the media says that facts has been compiled from sixty five districts. Bhargava stated that the sero-survey discovered that 0.73 percent of the populace in the districts covered inside the survey had been uncovered to SARS-Cov-2 (Severe acute breathing syndrome coronavirus 2) in the past. He stated, measures to limit access into lockdown and infection locations are keeping contamination low and preventing it from spreading rapidly.
